The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows! --Audrey Hepburn's Beauty Tips

Dejavu Keep Style Mascara

Hello Everyone!

Happy Weekend!

I received this new product from Dejavu and was really excited to try it. I'm a fan of their mascara and eyeliners because of its quality. Plus it's easy to remove.

Dejavu Says:

The Longest Lasting Curl-Up Film Mascara! (*according to in-house comparison)
Through intense research and development, Dejavu has created a new film mascara, an
improvement on Paint-On False Lashes, a mascara which stays smudge-proof all day long, and
comes off easily with warm water. Unlike other water-based film mascaras, Dejavu’s unique
polymer formulation gives a long-lasting upward-curl hold. Retail Price SGD25.00 /MRY

Traditional wax based mascara has a strong curl hold, but requires more effort to remove due to it’s hardening nature. It also causes smudging under the

We aimed to develop a new mascara which not only kept eyelashes upward all day long, but was also smudge
resistant as well as easily removed.
Film based mascara is water-soluble and easily removed with warm water. By perfecting the
moisture level in our film-based mascara, we ended up with a mascara that washes away easily
without excessive lash moisture, the major cause of drooping eyelashes.

Here's what I say:

packaging is beautiful.

without mascara, uncurled

With Keep Style Mascara applied without curling lashes

  • Feels light :)
  • No Smudging
  • Easy to Remove
  • Even without curling my lashes , it lifted my super straight lashes
  • Added volume
  • Added length
  • Looks natural

I find its performance similar with Majolica Majorca's lash king. The winner factor for this is it's easier to remove because it's film.

If you want a super heavy and thick mascara, this is not the product for you. But if you want a natural mascara which you use daily, then this is your perfect choice.

Overall, I am happy with this mascara. I will definitely wear it everyday to work.

Excited to try it? It will be available this November 2013 at Sasa! ;)

Foundation for the New Mom

Hello! Whew!! After  5 months, here I am posting again.
Motherhood changed my priorities.

By the way, here's a photo of my super adorable son:

He's a needy baby so I had to temporarily let go of blogging. I devoted my 3 month maternity leave nursing him.

Luke at 2 months

I gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Yes, I wore makeup during my pregnancy and even had my hair dyed.
(My OB gave me go signals of course back then. Well, he's right, my little boy is in perfect shape!)

However, I barely used makeup after I gave birth because I just loved kissing my baby and rubbing my face on his face and body. My skin had a good makeup rest for at least 3 months.

I went back to the Philippines and I gave birth in my hometown Baguio City.Weather was cold so my skin got really dry! Thus, my skin needed a splash of moisture. A liquid foundation was the perfect makeup then.

Now that I and baby's back in Singapore, my skin did not yet recover from dryness and it still loved this liquid foundation. I've been using it to work daily and it lasts all day. Weather is so so so hot and humid. No retouch needed. (by the way, I set it with MAC studio fix or covermark)

Here it is:
Loreal Lucent Magique

Why I love it:
  • It looks natural!
  • Gives a dewy effect
  • Gives an instant glow
  • Stays all day.
  • Medium to Full Coverage
  • Easy to remove and clean
  • Stored in a classy glass packaging.

I also used it on my cousin when she joined a school pageant where she won. She was so happy it lasted all day. I put her make up on at 5:30 AM. She went home at 6 PM and makeup was still in tact! (That's in Baguio ha, where the weather that day was around 21 degrees C!)

Now, check this out:

with foundation

Before - No foundation

after: with Loreal Lucent Magique

There, see the difference

w/o foundation
with Loreal Lucent ; no powder

This might not work if you have oily skin.

Have a happy weekend!

Brows.. brows.. How it changes the face! Etude Color my Brows

I passed by one of my favorite Korean beauty stores - Etude house and noticed a new shade of Color my Brows. I already reviewed shade in rich brown here  and I really loved it. And since I got my hair dyed with a hint of red, I decided to get another shade.

I've introduced brow tints to some friends and they absolutely adore it. It's a quick fix to barely there brows and thick brows at the same time.

Colored brows lightens the face.

I like this more than Kate's brow color.
Etude's is more matte. Kate has shimmer.

I highly recommend this :D

Happy Summer Everyone!

Here's a review on my latest finds. I finished lippies so I am entitled to buy new ones :)

Here's a shot of Vivid Coral Shade

Haul: Mac, Bobbi Brown and Estee Lauder on a Private Sale

Hello Ladies,

Last April 20, I and my makeup lover girl friends attended Estee Lauder's private sale at Marina Bay Sands. It sold famous brands like Mac, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Estee Lauder.
I did not buy too much as I decided to buy only those I really wanted and needed.
Let me share the swatches. I'll soon post photos of me or models wearing these makeups. I've been very lazy lately to edit and update my blog. My  pregnancy kept me just too lazy to blog.

I've always wanted an orange lippie but this MAC gloss will do :)

I've been packing lightly and I love makeup kits. This MAC quad with cream bronzer is perfectly handy and great for daily use.

Tired of black or brown liners? Estee lauder's liner is L-O-V-E

Bronzer... I'll never get tired of Bronzers

Stocked up on NC45. This is for my morena clients/models.

Finally got my bobbi brown cream shadow. I love it so much! I use it daily at work

So that's us happily shopping :D

Nose Line? Highlights? Kate Slim Create Powder

Happy Summer April!

Let me share another product review. I haven't been buying much cosmetics lately as I only buy cosmetics which I need. No more impulsive buying. :) Yey!

I was looking for an affordable Contour and highlight powder for nose line when I saw Kate's Slim Create Powder. I always liked Kate as they have good quality products. This drug store brand never failed me.

Price: S$27
I got mine less 25%  during Watsons sale

  • Highlighter gives a natural glow when applied on areas to be highlighted: Works on most skin tones

  • The brush is useful for highlights. I don't use it to contour though as I don't mix brushes
  • The quality of brush is good. It is soft too.
  • Product is not powdery
  • Packaging is small and fits pouch and kits easily.
  • Packaging is also classy
  • Mild contour, natural looking
  • The contour powder is light but buildable. . It works for fair skin. If you are quite dark, (darker than NC45) this might not work for you.

Here are some photos of Charmaine. I used the product to highlight her face and contour nose line only. She is around MAC NC35- NC40 on skin color.
