The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows! --Audrey Hepburn's Beauty Tips

Neogence Hyaluronic Acid DNA Hydrating Serum Review

It's the last day of the year!
Ready for 2013? Have you written your 2013 goals?

Before we end this wonderful year, let me share my review of Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum.
Hyaluronic is widely used now in skin care products. But what is it?

From http://www.hyalogic.com/main/about_hyaluronic_acid
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a carbohydrate, more specifically a mucopolysaccharide occurring naturally throughout the human body.
Its function in the body is, amongst other things, to bind water and to lubricate movable parts of the body, such as joints and muscles. Its consistency and tissue-friendliness allows it to be beneficial in skin-care products as an excellent moisturizer. Because HA is one of the most hydrophilic (water-loving) molecules in nature with numerous benefits for the human body it can be described as "nature's moisturizer".

Hyaluronic Acid Benefits for the Body?

If we compare the joints of the human body to an automobile engine, the joint fluid in the body mimics the oil in a car engine. At regular intervals we replace the oil in our car engines because the heat and friction breakdowns the oils viscosity. The oil becomes thinner and less able to protect the metal surfaces from excessive wear. Hyaluronic acid benefits our joints in the same way. As we age the viscosity of the joint fluid lessens. HA helps to maintain normal joint cushioning.

I've been loving products with Hyaluronic Acid. I've used Hada Labo which introduced me with Hyaluronic Acid. It definitely moisturizes skin making it supple. However, I had to stop it because I was using the Retinol Range. Since Retinol is not advisable for pregnant women, I had to stop it and postpone my use. I will give my barely used product to my mom instead.

I was asked to review Neogence and I immediately agreed because I like Hyaluronic Acid and Serums!
My skin has become so dry since I got pregnant and skincare needs a revamp. My doctor was okay with my skin products and says it won't affect my pregnancy. He told me to stop reading internet reviews on what not and what to use and just ask him if I have questions haha. Okay doc. Sorry, sometimes, I just can't help it.

From sasa.com:

Neogence DNA Hydrating Serum is enriched with Hyaluronic acid, which offers groundbreaking moisturizing effect. It effectively quenches skin's thirst. Wonderfully moisturized, deeply nourished and plumped, skin emerges infinitely regenerated. Leaves your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated from the surface right down to the core.

The serum goes deep beneath skin's surface to lock in moisture and heal dryness at the source, preventing its unwelcome return, leaving it plump and elastic. It penetrates deep into the skin to start healing at the source and helps heal extra dry skin.

how to use it
Apply morning or night, on its own or before your usual daily treatment

suitable for
all skin types

I've been using for a week and used it on 2 models as moisturizer to prep their skin for make up.
Likes:
  •  Texture is so smooth and is a breeze to apply
  • A little goes a long way
  • Easily absorbed by skin
  • Mild scent
  • Mild on skin; no irritation (for me and the 2 persons whom I used it with :D)
  • Feels light on skin
  • Leaves skin moisturized but not oily
  • Pump style packaging
Neutral:
  • Unlike other serums which is clear, Neogence is milky white. I don't mind though.
  • It doesn't claim oil control so you will have to use primer as oil control on T-Zone if you plan to use this as make up base.
Dislikes:
  • Though I like the pump, the overall packaging is not that appealing.

Overall:
This is now a mainstay on my makeup stash and will use it to prep my models and clients skin.
I love how skin becomes moisturized less the greasy and oily feel. It's great as base

  2. You have a great review about the product, and as I see the picture, I can agree that the packaging is not really that appealing. Anyway, your thoughts here are so helpful and thanks for that. I was looking for a certain product that can lessen my parent’s joint pains and I think I can recommend this one. Thanks again, and I hope you’ll keep posting about great products. Anyway, the next products will probably have an attractive package design. Haha, let’s cross our fingers for now! :)
